Wang Yang, mathematician, vice president (university development) and chair professor of the Department of Mathematics of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, director of the Big Data Biointelligence Laboratory of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and deputy director of the Big Data Research Institute of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Wang Yang graduated from the University of Science and Technology of China with a bachelor's degree in mathematics in 1983; joined the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1989 to engage in academic work; received a doctorate in mathematics from Harvard University in 1990; served as the course director of the National Science Foundation from 2006 to 2007 In 2007, he joined Michigan State University as the head and professor of the Department of Mathematics; in 2014, he joined the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as the head of the Department of Mathematics; in 2016, he was promoted to the Dean of the Faculty of Science of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; in October 2020, he became the Vice President of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (University Outreach).

From 2007 to 2017, he served as the Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government. Before joining the government, Chen Jiaqiang was the Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Before joining HKUST Business School in 1993, he taught at Ohio State University for 9 years. KC Chan graduated from the University of Chicago with an MBA and a Ph.D. in Finance. Professor Chen specializes in asset pricing, trading strategy evaluation and market efficiency.
