Spencer Bogart is a General Partner at Blockchain Capital and leads the firm’s research efforts. Spencer is a fundamental investment analyst with a rare combination of deep experience analyzing cryptocurrencies as well as traditional equity opportunities. Spencer joined in February 2017. Prior to joining Blockchain Capital, Spencer was a Vice President at Needham & Company, where he authored Wall Street’s first industry report highlighting the use-cases, companies and potential of blockchain technology. Aside from leading all research efforts related to crypto and blockchain during his time at Needham & Company, Spencer also covered public SaaS, FinTech, and internet companies, authored reports on those sectors and issued price targets on companies under coverage. Spencer is a CFA charter holder, holds an Economics degree from UCSB, and enjoys spending time with family in Ireland and California.

Brad Stephens is Co-founder and Managing Partner of Blockchain Capital, the premier venture capital fund investing in the blockchain technology sector and the first to raise a venture fund through an ICO. Prior to Blockchain Capital, Brad was Managing Partner of Stephens Investment Management LLC (SIM), which he co-founded in 2002. His diverse background in domestic and international finance includes sell-side securities analysis, hedge fund management, venture capital, and family office management. Prior to co-founding SIM, Brad worked as the senior analyst at Fidelity Ventures, the venture capital arm of Fidelity Investments. At Fidelity, Brad focused on the areas of Internet Security and New Media, leading investments into e-Security, Sanctum, and Managed Objects. He also founded Fidelity's Biometric Consortium, a cutting-edge collaboration of all Fidelity's business units designed to explore, pilot, and implement biometric security systems within Fidelity and eventually its consumer clients. Brad also worked as a research analyst in CSFB's Technology Group, specializing in Internet Security and Internet infrastructure software. While at CSFB, Brad helped raise over $1.3 billion for companies under coverage. Prior to working at CSFB, Brad worked as a research analyst at Furman Selz (later acquired by ING Barings), where he co-founded their Internet Research Group and co-authored the first financial industry piece on Internet Security. Brad holds a B.A. in Economics from Duke University.

Aleks Larsen

Aleks Larsen is a general partner at Blockchain Capital. With a multidisciplinary background, Aleks brings a unique combination of experience in systems engineering, fundamental analysis and capital markets to the firm. Prior to joining Blockchain Capital, Aleks worked as an investment banking analyst at Guggenheim Partners, focusing on mergers & acquisitions and equity financings within the biotechnology sector. Aleks graduated Summa Cum Laude with a B.S. in Systems Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis.

Hongbo Wen

Hongbo Wen is the co-founder at Nubit. He is a senior Ph.D. student (on-leave) at UCSB, with a B.S. from Tsinghua University. His research in blockchain security has led to the discovery of numerous zero-day vulnerabilities and prevalent flaw patterns, particularly in smart contracts and Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP) Circuits. His notable work includes the pioneering paper 'ZKAP' on identifying bug patterns within ZKP Circuits, presented at USENIX Sec '24.

Hanzhi Liu

Hanzhi Liu is the co-founder at Nubit. He is a Ph.D. student (on-leave) at UCSB, with a B.S. from Shanghai Jiao Tong University. His research is centered on program verification, language semantics, and compiler optimizations. He has written formal proofs for most of the Ethereum Foundation PSE's projects and has discovered numerous zero-day vulnerabilities. He authored a notable paper on certifying ZKP circuits, accepted for S&P 2024, and has worked on mitigating on-chain attacks.

Colin Goltra

Colin Goltra is the former COO at YGG and the Director of Southeast Asia at Binance, the world's largest Cryptocurrency platform, where he is focused on expanding markets, access, and infrastructure for Crypto throughout the Philippines & Southeast Asia. Colin is an avid collector of NFT-based Crypto Art and an active proponent of Filipino self-empowerment in the Crypto-Metaverse. Along with Gabby Dizon, Colin co-created the Narra Gallery, a virtual gallery space and cultural capital fund meant to help bridge the divide between the Philippines and the crypto world. His thoughts on the Crypto Art movement have also been featured globally in 'The Wall Street Journal,' 'The New York Times Magazine,' as well as numerous other crypto and NFT ecosystem publications.

He also held research positions at NTT Research, the University of Washington, and Visa Research, where he contributed to cutting-edge research in the field of blockchain technology. W. Dai obtained his Ph.D. from UC San Diego and holds B.S. degrees in Computer Science and Mathematics from the College of Creative Studies at UCSB, as well as a Masters's from UCSB.
