Surojit Chatterjee
Surojit Chatterjee is former Chief Product Officer at Coinbase. Surojit Chatterjee is joining Coinbase as our new Chief Product Officer after spending 11 years at Google. Coinbase is a product-led company, and Surojit will play a critical role in making the cryptoeconomy accessible to millions more people through Coinbase’s suite of products. Most recently, Surojit was Vice President of Product at Google, where he led Google Shopping, which helps people discover and compare products on Google. Before leading Google Shopping, Surojit was the Head of Product at Flipkart, a popular Indian e-commerce site, leading product management, user experience, product operations, and data science. Prior to Flipkart, Surojit was a founding member of Google’s mobile search ads product.
Mike Lempres
Mike Lempres previously served as Executive Director, general counsel, and Head of government affairs at Andreessen Horowitz. Previously, he was Chief Policy officer at Coinbase. He has extensive expertise in emerging or challenging regulatory environments, international affairs and corporate governance. He was elected to the Atherton City Council and is an active board member in both private and non-profit entities.
Balaji Srinivasan
Balaji S. Srinivasan is an angel investor, tech founder, and Wall Street Journal bestselling author of The Network State. He was formerly the CTO of Coinbase and General Partner at Andreessen Horowitz, and is an early investor in many successful tech companies and crypto protocols, including Alchemy, Ava Labs, Bitcoin, Cameo, Chainlink, Clubhouse, Dapper Labs, Ethereum, Instadapp, NEAR Protocol, OnDeck, Opensea, Solana, Soylent, Superhuman, Synthesis, and Zora. Dr. Srinivasan is also the cofounder of Earn.com (acquired by Coinbase), Counsyl (acquired by Myriad), Teleport (acquired by Topia), and Coin Center. He holds a BS/MS/PhD in Electrical Engineering and an MS in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University.
Rachael Horwitz
Rachael Horwitz is the CMO of Haun Ventures, and she was the VP of Communications at Coinbase. Rachael Horowitz currently serves as the first-ever Spark Capital Marketing and Communications Partner. This role will put Horwitz at the head of the firm’s marketing and communications activities, along with community events and initiatives. Horwitz spent nearly five years at Twitter as Communications Director, and then took that experience to Facebook’s Communications department for another 15 months.
Ronny Conway
Ronny Conway is the Founder & General Partner at A.Capital. Prior to starting A.Capital, Ronny was one of the first Partners at Andreessen Horowitz, where he was the head of seed and early-stage investing and was involved in such high profile investments as Airbnb, Instagram, Optimizely, Pinterest, Dollar Shave Club and Twitter. Before a16z, Ronny spent six years at Google, and was one of the first employees at Google Ventures. Ronny has spent most of his life around venture capital, and received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA.
Ramu Arunachalam
Ramu Arunachalam is the General Partner at A.Capital. Ramu was most recently a Partner at Andreessen Horowitz. A computer scientist by training, Ramu has over a decade of operating experience in product management and engineering at both startups and public companies. Prior to Andreessen Horowitz, Ramu led new product initiatives in Big Data for Aster Data (acquired by Teradata). Earlier in his career, Ramu was an engineer at VMware and part of the team that developed the industry’s first virtual switch for VMware’s flagship ESX server product line. Ramu holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, an MS in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and a BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering (with University Honors) from Carnegie Mellon University.
Li Jin
Li Jin is the co-founder of Variant Fund and the founder of Atelier Ventures. Prior to that, Li Jin was a partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z).
Khurram Dara
Before joining Bain Capital Crypto, Khurram worked on the public policy team at Coinbase. A capital markets lawyer by training, Khurram has helped crypto projects navigate the legal and regulatory landscape since 2017, with a focus on tokens, DeFi, NFTs, and DAOs. He was previously general counsel at Fluidity, the team behind AirSwap and prior to that practiced law at Orrick, where he worked with crypto projects as outside counsel. He began his legal career at Cahill Gordon & Reindel and is a graduate of Columbia Law School. Outside of work, Khurram enjoys playing soccer with friends and watching his beloved Buffalo Bills.
Nina Suthers
Nina is the chief marketing officer at Variant where she is responsible for the brand, marketing, communications, and events. She also advises projects in our portfolio on their marketing strategy. Nina was previously a marketing partner at Andreessen Horowitz, where she helped build the crypto fund’s brand through media, events and special programs like the Crypto Startup School. Prior to her work at a16z, she was an account director at the OutCast Agency, a marketing agency specializing in comms, creative, and digital.
Rick Schonberg
Rick Schonberg is head of custody at Coinbase and was previously Senior managing Director at State Street and head of global product Development at LCH. He holds a Bachelor's degree in economics from Princeton University.
