Previous to his time at Microsoft, Ben was a partner and quantitative analyst for automated trading at Manticore Investment Group. He also worked as product manager at Zopim Communications and as an engineer at Vr-Zone. Ben holds a degree in computer science from the University of New South Wales.

He was also a participant of the Hong Kong Science and Technology Park incubation program, where he developed a platform for sharing community goods to reduce food waste. Before founding Candy Shop, he headed a team that built an NFT fractionalization product, which won first place in the Serum and Wormhole hackathon.
