Adam Assiraj is the formerly CFO and COO of Shima Capital. He has extensive experience in the asset management industry and has held many roles to help fund managers and investors evaluate and build the best operational infrastructure. He has held senior positions at Private Advisors, Santander, Entrust Capital, PwC, E&Y, and most recently, he ran a due diligence advisory firm to help clients assess fund risks.

Alex Lin

Alex Lin is the Head of Research and an Investor at Shima Capital. Previously, Alex was a venture partner and investor at Old Fashioned Research, a multi-strategy Web3 fund managed by former Binance executives. Alex started his career in consulting at Deloitte, and subsequently held roles in engineering and product at Teads (acquired by Altice) and Concertiv (majority acquired by Long Arc Capital). Alex is also the co-founder of Tether Health, an early-stage digital health startup. Alex earned a BS in Applied Mathematics with double minors in Computer Science and Economics from VMI, and received a Technical MBA with a concentration in Computer Engineering from Cornell University.

Alex Wettermann

Alex Wettermann is the Head of Gaming & Metaverse at Shima Capital. He was a founding member of Chainforest and a co-founder of Sequel. As the Head of Blockchain at AlleyCorp, Alex led web3 investments and incubations. Prior to AlleyCorp, he ran token sales at CoinList, raising more than 100 million dollars. Before that, he was an IP Attorney at Morgan, Lewis & Bockius, focusing on both IP litigation and patent prosecution. Alex holds a JD from UC Hastings and a BSE in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University.

Brandon Stahl

Brandon Stahl is the Chief Financial Officer at Shima Capital. Experienced leader with a demonstrated history of delivering results through teams in the financial services industry. Skilled in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Financial Accounting, ASC 946 Accounting, and Auditing in Traditional and Real Estate Private Equity industries. Strong professional with a Master of Accounting from University of Hawaii - Shidler College of Business. CPA licensed in California and a CFA Charterholder.

Hazel Chen

Hazel is the Chief of Staff at Shima Capital. She was a former management consultant at Bain & Company, where she specialized in due diligence, marketing strategy, and implementation for 2C businesses. She has also worked in investments, post-investment management, and advisory for both Web2 and Web3 venture capital firms.

Chris Adams

Chris is formerly Head of Talent at Shima Capital, formerly the Head of Talent at Atomic VC where he helped scale teams from seed to Series C and implemented talent programs for early teams. He was also the first Sourcer at Uber, having personally hired 300 candidates and leading a team of 20. He has also recruited for Google and Pinterest.

Cory A. Ross

Cory A. Ross is the Head of Marketing and Community Building at Shima Capital. Since 2017, Cory has held senior marketing positions in the crypto space, often as the first marketer on staff. He has brought various projects to life, including Layer 1s, DeFi, DApps, gaming, and more, by building marketing teams and strategies from the ground up. Cory enjoys the entire process of creating projects, from conception to launch, and is highly experienced in developing comprehensive marketing strategies, comprehensive go-to-market roadmaps, content creation, and community growth plans. He is well-equipped to take projects from 0 → 1 and beyond.

Yida Gao

Yida Gao is a General Partner at Shima Capital. Also serves as a member of the Open Campus (EDU) committee,Previously, he was a General Partner at Divergence Digital Currency and Struck Capital. He was also a technology investor at NEA, one of the world's largest VC funds with over $20 billion in AUM. Before that, Yida was an investment banker at Morgan Stanley in the Mergers & Acquisitions Group in New York City, where he helped execute deals worth a total of $15 billion. Yida graduated Phi Beta Kappa from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) with a B.S. in Mathematics and Computer Science, and was a varsity pole vaulter. He attended Stanford GSB for a brief period before dropping out to join Struck Capital.

Carl Hua

Carl Hua is the CTO and Investment Partner of Shima Capital. He previously served as Chief Architect at Celsius Network and General Manager of CelsiusX, the DeFi division of Celsius. Before that, Carl led the research and development efforts at RippleX, Ripple's open-source/developers platform business unit. He also co-managed the C++ (XRP Ledger) team during his time at Ripple. Before Ripple, Carl was the CTO for Logos Network - a first-layer, high-performance blockchain company, which was later acquired by Ripple. Earlier in his career, he contributed to the next-generation real-time flight software for the Europa mission at JPL NASA. He has also led engineering teams developing flight software at Northrop Grumman.
