About Noise

Noise is a trend trading platform that quantifies internet attention into a tradable index called the Relevance Index. Users can go long or short on trends, brands, and ideas based on whether they believe public attention will rise or fall. The index is derived from a weighted aggregation of social media engagement (posts, interactions, unique authors on X, Reddit, YouTube, etc.) and market signals from prediction platforms like Polymarket and Kalshi. The core innovation is turning abstract 'buzz' into a continuous, real-time financial asset, distinct from binary prediction markets. It addresses the pain point of managing attention risk—for example, a company could hedge a marketing campaign by shorting related topics, or an investor could use attention peaks as a contrarian indicator for crypto prices. In the past six months (March to September 2026), Noise launched its Beta version on April 1, 2026, requiring a $5 fee for access and using a credit system for trading with 1-5x leverage on topics like crude oil. The platform opened its waitlist in March 2026 ahead of a planned mainnet deployment on Base. However, the specific algorithm remains undisclosed to prevent manipulation, and the Beta phase lacks a settlement function for converting credits back to fiat or crypto. The challenge of whether the index truly reflects 'importance' rather than 'noise' remains an open question.

Updated: Sep 12, 2026

Founded in 2024, Noise is a trend trading platform focused on "attention markets." In May 2025, it launched an invite-only testnet, attracting over 1,300 users across 14 attention markets, validating demand through strong retention. In January 2026, it completed a $7.1M seed round led by Paradigm, with participation from Figment Capital, Anagram, GSR, and others. In March 2026, it opened a waiting list ahead of its Base mainnet launch, marking the shift from testnet to public trading. By combining real-time social data with trading activity, Noise creates a tradeable cultural relevance metric. Its long-term significance lies in making attention itself a priced asset, extending beyond event-based prediction markets.

Updated: Sep 5, 2026

In late March 2026, Noise announced a $7.1M seed round led by Paradigm and opened its official waitlist. On April 1, the Beta went live as an 'attention market / Relevance Index trading platform'; users can go long/short on whether an event or cultural topic's popularity will rise or fall (1-5x leverage), using an order book and funding rate mechanism similar to perpetual contracts. During Beta, trading uses credits rather than crypto/fiat settlement; data sources include X, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Substack, RSS, and Polymarket/Kalshi signals. Officially, the invite-only Beta already had 1,300+ users across 14 attention markets, and the waitlist surpassed 30,000 in 48 hours before launch .

Future roadmap focus: launch the mainnet on Base, open it to everyone with real-money trading, and continue refining the Relevance Index algorithm and market depth. No token or airdrop has been officially confirmed.
