About Azra Games
Azra Games is a blockchain gaming company focused on developing high-quality role-playing games. Its core product, UnGodly, is a dark fantasy free-to-play game available on mobile and PC. Azra Games was founded in 2022 by Mark Otero, designer of Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, aiming to create the fourth generation of mobile RPGs. It completed a $15 million seed round led by a16z in 2022, followed by an additional $10 million seed extension in 2023. In October 2024, it raised a $42 million Series A led by Pantera Capital with participation from a16z crypto, bringing total funding to $68.3 million. Its flagship title, Legions & Legends (codename Project Legends), completed its first closed playtest, and the team launched The Hopeful NFT as a long-term player pass. The company is also developing its proprietary AI stack, RPG GameKit, to accelerate content creation and enable cross-platform development.

On July 14, the studio confirmed layoffs and a team reduction, saying it was shifting from heavy production to device expansion, optimization, and polish, with a focus on quality and sustainable monetization . On July 17, it announced a partnership with Heroic Signatures and Conan Properties to bring Conan the Barbarian into UnGodly, plus an SDCC-exclusive limited crossover comic .
